Overall Atmosphere: Combination
Featuring both cultural and natural attractions.
Combination Atmosphere destinations combine elements of both cultural and natural destinations, where this combination is itself essential to the travel experience. Common examples are Archaeological Sites (where culture is usually experienced outdoors), Scenic Local Markets (where indigenous cultures interact outdoors), Hotsprings and Vineyard Areas (where nature provides the raw materials but humans create the surroundings), and Unique Cultural Landscapes (where humans and nature interact in innovative ways, as in the elaborate rice terracing systems of Asia).
Combination Interests typically fall somewhere in the middle of the three types of primary interests in terms of
(a) how climate-dependent they are
(b) how accessible and physically demanding they are.

The pool area was great and the restaurant the Ruby has awesome food .
This is a great place for families. We loved all the ammenities including the pool, hot tub, dauna, waterslide, record player, board games, ping pong, wii and skateboards. Perfect family suite for our family of 5. We will definitley stay again and we are thinking of planning a teip to Kelowna to check out the Zed there
The front desk clerk was awesome so sweet and friendly also very helpful

Easy access to Highway and shopping. People were helpful and friendly.
Everything was to my liking -- must bring my swim suit next time!
Kind of our home away from home. We stay here often. Great staff, cool ambiance. Clean, warm welcoming place to be, with family and friends.
Wonderful stay! The room was spacious and well laid out, decor funky but not too much so, the bed very comfortable. Loved the levels wrapped around a beautiful courtyard and not having to travel through hallways, I felt like I was in Europe. The nespresso coffe machine delivered a very welcome start to the morning. Definitely recommend staying here!
Comfortable beds, great location, wonderful staff. Coffee in the lobby was delicious and always plentiful. Staff were so professional and friendly. The games room was a great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
It's a funky place with nice accommodating staff and everything went smoothly.

it was clean and the bed was soft and good but I prefer two double beds
Walking distance to function. Secured parking. Bed very comfortable. Couldn't hear the street noise or our neighbours. Would stay here again.
The bed is extra comfy and there were six pillows which were also very comfy. We needed a get-away for a while and had such a great time. Everybody at the front desk was friendly. The t.v. was easy to use. We will be back next year.
The bed was so comfy They had good TV The parking garage across the street is cheaper for weekend visits
Location easy walking distance to downtown and facilities
Great staff, nice clean and open room design.Good location also. I arrived a bit early, asked if I could do an early check in. No hesitation, yes! At end of stay I asked if I could do a late check out and again no problem. Great value especially compared to my Seattle accommodation at the Executive Hotel Pacific. Ugh never again will I stay at any Executive Hotel chain.
I accidently booked the wrong date. When we showed up a week early and on the long weekend, there was only one room left. The staff took care of us and moved our date. Thank-you so much again! Also, love the in and out privileges with the parking. We were also very pleased that we could leave our car at the hotel until 3pm even though we checked out at 11am. Thank-you again for such a wonderful stay!
I liked the fact that the maids were given Christmas off. I loved the room, it was well insulated. I could hear the neighbors out in the hall but not in my room.
Quiet. Great location- easy access to convention centre.
Location was excellent and the staff was very nice. The room had been recently renovated.

Staff were very friendly & approachable. The hotel room itself was larger then expected & very comfortable. I will be returning to Victoria & I will definitely be staying there again.
The Hotel is great, fantastic location, everything at your fingertips the staff at the front desk are all delightful and very helpful, the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms are excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The in-house restaurant Scallywags was great for breakfast: better than the White Spot down the block.
The location was good - we've stayed closer to the harbour before, however, staying here meant we racked up more steps on our tracker. Beds were comfortable. All was good.
The Parking was great and when I needed a extension cord for my husbands Sleep App machine they readily supplied. Room was nice and quiet. Great Location and Very Easy Access.
The building looks dated on the outside but the rooms have been nicely renovated. The restaurant had delicious breakfasts! And the location for the price was unbeatable!
Staff were excellent, the location was perfect. It was very close to the main concern venue in town, and just a short walk to Victoria City Centre.
I loved the friendly helpful staff...lovey clean ample room...comfy bed...quiet hotel...and great food...the lounge was really nice as well...I'll be back and will recommend your hotel to my friends. I'm a senior lady and it was the very first time I stayed in a hotel by my self...they all made it easy for me and I felt safe

This is a 1960's one family owned property. It has heart and soul.
Beds very comfy, great coffee, perfect for our needs. Jane did a fantastic job of cleaning our room - cheerful and great attention to detail. Very helpful reception staff, a lot of helpful brochures in reception. Clothes washing facilities excellent.
Comfy beds, very clean, and the desk clerk juggled bookings to give us the sort of room we wanted in the best location.
I liked staying out of downtown but being close enough that I didn't feel that far away. Good bars and restaurants close by.
The coffee supplied in the room and how quiet it was in the evenings.
Nice decor in the room. Very accommodating office staff. Great location of the room I received. Needed a room with no stairs to access it.
The staff on check in and our were excellent. There was a hotel across the road that you could use for meals. The room was well equipped for your stay
Great coffee in the office. I would recommend "Robin Hood" to my family and friends
Very comfortable room with all the amenities that we would expect.
The hotel surprised us .. Thinking it would be a dive .. But it was great!

Very big room with good natural light. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely evening walks along the Gorge just across the bridge. Quiet.
Comfortable beds. Kitchen was adequately stocked with supplies for cooking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast had many healthy choices.
Even though they had not received the booking from Booking.com they did make a room available at the online price without too much hassle.
Excellent and beautiful location. Ocean view was lovely. The room was spacious with a lovely kitchenette. I would definitely come back again.
Staff were excellent , Totally friendly and wanted to help out in any way if they could.
We liked our large comfortable room and the coffee was available all day. The staff was very helpful.
Twice the space for half the price compared to more elegant accommodations.
Globe and Mail and breakfast provided and delightful staff.
We enjoyed our stay here, We were only stopping overnight before catching the ferry back to Vancouver Island so did not really have much time to enjoy all the facilities. I have some mobility issues and our room was very conveniently located as we could park quite near the door adjacent to our room. We were also pleased to see that the hotel uses "green" practices with regard to conserving water and energy by not changing the towels and sheets if the guest is planning to stay more than one night.
Location was perfect, room was large and clean, good value for what you got

The heat in the room had been turned on before I got there - nice! The free breakfast is good value and really is a hearty breakfast, not a croissant and coffee. Good easy parking. Everything was clean, the room was spacious.
The staff were very helpful and responsive. They moved our room so we could be closer to our friends.
The king size bed was very comfortable. Nice breakfast.

Nice Period Correct Room Fireplace Nice Touch Jetted Tub View of Harbour
Loved looking out our window to the bustling street below. Started our morning with tea/coffee and pastries abd finished our day with drinks and snacks all accessible through our hotel lobby! Charming and comfortable, looking forward to staying again.
Good solid value and great location in city centre
Close to everything! Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, sights. Older hotel has character!
The layout of the rooms are really clever and spacious. Lovely old building with very high ceilings. The tub was gigantic, the windows were beautiful and open, and there's a great view.
There is no better location! Right on the main street . . . walking distance to the ferries and everything else. Stores, restaurants, bars, etc., are all right there -- you're across the street from the Bay Centre Shopping Complex too -- and some rooms have fireplaces and large, jetted, tubs. A few little things are a bit dated, this hotel's been around for a while, but it's really clean and quiet once you head up into the hotel, they supply wood for the fireplace and free wifi, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The guy on the front desk checked me in about 3 hours early and was so helpful. It started my stay well and then the 2 girls that checked me out were wonderful too, letting me leave my bags with them for the day. The room was a little quirky but in quite a fun way and I slept completely undisturbed despite it being St. Patrick's day and there being an Irish pub across the street.
Location! Well-appointed room for a 150-year-old hotel, close to everything you'd want to walk to in downtown Victoria. A find!
location was perfect everything is walking distant
Location was excellent for me to get to HarbourAir. Older hotel that was comfortable and great value.

The location was awesome, restaurant was great, and the staff were excellent in all regards. Very close to the inner harbour and many fine shops and restaurants.
Right on the harbour. Nice quiet place. Staff were great.
Lovely view from the room and balcony of the Ocean.Super comfortable bed, with plush linen. Mid sized Fridge and microwave bonus. Clean.
location is excellent, view is great, hot tub and swimming pool is nice, breafast is good, and staffs are kind.
It is in a good location. Everything fine, room small but perfectly adequate. Price was good for Victoria. I would not describe it as "boutique" but it was none of the other categories either. It is not a 4 star. However would highly recommend it as value for money and staff weee very helpful and pleasant.
The staff was welcoming and professional yet very friendly. The front desk staff remembered our names after just one interaction and the restaurant/patio staff were efficient, informative, and seemed genuinely happy to engage with customers. The location and cost simply can't be beat.
Great location and good walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. Make sure you pick harbour view rooms. The room is comfortable and clean.
It had everything you would expect from a Days Inn. Excellent value for money.

Rooms just as shown on Booking.com. Very clean and very well presented. Kitchenette in great condition. Kettle and microwave.
Friendly staff, great location for our need, CLEANLINESS
The room was excellent, very room and very clean! Staff were friendly and we had very good experience. Awesome value for your money. Thank you to the staff for making us feel very welcome!
I like the variety of the TV channels and the space that came along with the kitchenette. The parking that was included was a major bonus.
The room was great with small kitchen. Actually was surprised bed very comfortable. Liked the shower and bathtub. Everyone was so nice even when we arrived very late due to flight delays.
The room was fresh and clean. I was also very happy to have the fridge. The staff was very accommodating with extra towels and coffee every day.
We arrived hours After the Check-in, but an employee stayed up to let is in. Big thumbs up for that! Plus, the room was quite big

Very helpful, friendly staff, convenient location close to shopping, great restaurants and Chinatown. Great onsite, free parking. Not modern but very functional room, good bang for your buck, clean and comfortable and reasonable price. I would stay there again.
the newly updated rooms made this property a real value very close to everything we like the fact our car is safe in their lot and we can walk to all of the downtown sites. the restaurant has great and happy staff and good food
The restaurant at the hotel was awesome, great food reasonable prices, friendly staff.
the food available at the hotel restaurant was excellent
If ypu are going to an event at the arena, this location can't be beat. Very close to downtown as well. Lots of parking here as well.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The place is not far from downtown. Good price at less than $100 a night!
I like the red leather chairs, the fact that I have the flexibility use a cash deposit rather than a credit card.
The goody bag on our door was awesome. Looking forward to booking for Christmas eve there next year. Nice Touch!!

Friendly small town feel and mannerisms of staff. Very friendly, wide variety and pretty good
I like how the parking area is right outside of the room. The overall ambiance outside the room was secluded perfectly. I really enjoyed how there is a pub/restaurant in the hotel.
The beds were super comfy and the pillows weren't the too-stuffed kind you often find in a hotel. The hotel is close to the pedestrian bridge, so it would have been possible to walk into town if we'd had more time.
Beds were great.. bathroom sink was cracked no so great because it harbors germs and dirt.. but very nice room
Comfy bed....nice and quiet. Great pool and sauna facilities.
The bed is comfy , there is a place to walk the dog right there and the price was good.
The staff in the restraunt in the morning were very personable.
We liked that we were close to all the amenities and venues we visited while in Victoria. We liked that that it was value priced.
Surprised how clean it was. I would stay again when I'm in Victoria
The location was good, not quite downtown but really close, so it is nice and quiet with ample free parking. There were also a few 15-min parking spots for check-in/out which is quite convenient. The place was simply decorated but clean and quiet which is always nice. Although i didn't bring my dog, it's nice to know that I could. I didn't have a chance to use the pool/hot tub but it's a nice feature too. Staff was friendly and check-in/check-out was quick.

Friendly staff and guests. Very social bar/restraunt. Staff are very helpful when looking for things to do around victoria.
Free breakfast and dinner was nice as was the location and the on-site pub. Lovely friendly atmosphere.
Really good spicy tomato pasta soup for dinner Friday May 5. Dinner and breakfast both included...both were simple but more than adequate. Small bar on site...nice. Eclectic mix of young international travelers and older folks. It's not a five star hotel...it's a hostel, and quite well organized. If that's what you're looking for, this place would suit you.
the dinner (lentils & rice) & breakfast (toast, fruit, juice, coffee, tea) were simple yet substantial the building must be 100 years old, I enjoyed some features that still remain (hardwood floors, wood sash windows, high ceilings)
Common area/bar area was great. Room was clean and updated. Location is fantastic. Staff very friendly.
Simple. Clean. Variety of room choices. Value. Framed world photographs and other art.
I like that there is a pub with entertainment. Very social.
Given that I paid $25 for a room, I really can't complain. If you want something nicer and quieter, pay the extra and get your own room.
I thought the staff worked very well together to meet everyone's needs. Was very clean. Someone was always there to help. Friendly atmosphere.
Loved everything about this place! perfect for meeting all kinds of people, having a great time and making it so comfortable you never want to leave. My next trip to Vic I will be staying here again!!!!

I was upgraded to a room with a giant jacuzzi next to the bed and got to have a nice soak. The bed was really soft and comfortable and I thought the check in staff were really friendly.

We were greeted immediately upon arrival by front desk staff, they were friendly, accommodating, informative. Staff was so friendly and help us to book activities like whale watching. 5-10 minutes driving to the city center.
The style is basic but decent and the price was in our budget.
I liked that it had tile floors as they can be cleaned better than carpets. The location is close to downtown. The owners are friendly it was a pleasant experience all around. I will definatley stay here again
Staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very quiet, which was really important as we went over for the Victoria marathon.
The bed was extremely comfy. The owners and staff very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Large room - great fridge and bathtub. Kitchen was equipped with everything you could want.
Service is Very Nice. A Special Thanks To the staff!!!

Comfortable beds, clean. Decent location for travellers with cars, as the hotel is not in the central location of Downton Victoria. The room was a little bit warmer than we like, we arrived on a warmer day. The staff were extremely good and did all they could to try to reduce the heat in the room.
Staff - During my stay I encountered 4 members of staff, all of them were really friendly and helpful. Check in was really quick, room card ready, hotel info given, hotel aware of late checkout request - really friendly receptionist. Room - really clean and tidy, comfortable bed, quiet - didn't hear noise from the car park/ Wifi - happy with the internet, no issues
I loved the place . Very helpful and supportive staff
helpfulness of staff, clean, quiet room, v.g. location
Parking was plentiful right close to the entry way. Location was very good.
We had an overnight stay in Victoria and without hesitation we again chose the Howard Johnson hotel. The hotel was quite full with mainly guests attending a sports event being held there. The overnight rates of $89 for a double room which included free wifi was excellent value and the hotel itself was clean and tidy. I am a regular visitor to Victoria and have had very pleasant experiences with the Howard Johnson each time. All the team are friendly and welcoming and even remember my name and preferences. Nothing is every too much, I recently took nine colleagues to stay for two nights and the service for ten was as exceptional for a group as for one person. Comfy beds, clean rooms - it doesn't get any better Thank you
We were quite lost driving through the city in the dark and called the hotel to get help and they were wonderful and so kind. The receptionist printed off route map without being asked and made sure I knew where we were going before I left, many thanks, guys! Very impressed with the welcome & service we received from the management & staff We had a very pleasant stay & enjoyed facilities. We will highly recommend the Howard Johnson Hotel Victoria
Kylie Much Much Appreciated for your extra mile hospitality service & making our stay cozy as home & thanks for the rest of the staff for providing us best service and great hospitality service. I stay at this hotel every week and I am always greeted with a smile and permanent "anything I can do to make your stay more pleasurable" approach. The team always go that extra mile (I usually deal with Rebecca) and the rooms always meet my expectations. Great Value and Great Service
My stay at the hotel was very satisfied. The room is very nice, tea and coffee are supplied daily and the rooms are kept very clean towels changed on a daily basis. Although the hotel is very quiet at the moment Yunsoo on reception always takes time to chat to us and has given us lots of information about places of interest nearby to visit, a very nice young man! Unable to comment on the food here as it is currently renovating and we are on a room only basis but so far l have been very impressed with the hotel don't have a car but the bus service to downtown is very good but make sure you have the correct money on some of the buses as they don't give change !!
Comfortable hotel with good quality food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. there is a very large car park. The location was great, being handy for close to downtown. Whenever I had a query, it was always promptly dealt with. For a comfortable hotel that was not expensive, this is very good value. I have stayed many times here on business, and see quite a few people who do the same

Romantic and private. Breakfast meal was delicious. Champagne and truffles a delightful treat. Listening to the horse drawn carriages clippity clip along the street was lovely.
The room was comfortable and cute. The jacuzzi tub was a nice romantic touch. Breakfast served in the morning was delicious and aesthetically beautiful. All of the little touches like champaign and truffles, fresh flowers and cute cutlery and coffee mugs were well thought-out and pretty. It was in good proximity to walk downtown. Parking was included.
Comfort of the bed, the bed sheets were very soft. The whole atmosphere of the room, very romantic and cozy.
Absolutely everything!!! My wife and I will highly recommend our family and friends to only stay here! Looking forward to returning :)
Reviews are good for a reason. Breakfast on time and very good, quality and quantity. Great stay.
The Mikado room was romantic. Our host, Maeve, was awesome. Our breakfast was beautifully prepared and satisfying. Great location to everything we wanted to see and do. What a treat!
Excellent location, quiet but very near the centre. We stayed in the Floral suite which had a separate living room and patio area. Accommodation was excellent even better than we expected. We would definitely recommend and visit again
As older women, we were pampered and received extra care and assistance with heavy luggage, etc.

Well-kept, quiet Victorian B&B close to downtown with great breakfasts. As an earlier guest indicated in the guestbook, our front parlor room was 'very pinky.'
We enjoyed every aspect of The Beaconsfield Inn, from the historical significance of the home to the delicious breakfast, served on fine china and elegantly presented in the sunroom. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived to our departure.
We liked the breakfast every morning. Our hostess/manager of the place was very friendly and informative for what places to eat etc...all good and our room with the jacuzzi and fireplace was really nice with a Victorian style decor! We stayed in the garden room downstairs with its own door to the front on Humbolt. Lovely tea in the library in the afternoon then wine was put out after. Nice and cozy and relaxing!
Very friendly staff, gorgeous architecture and historical feel to every part of the B&B. Great soaker tub, and a cozy fireplace to cap the evening.
Breakfasts were amazing and we were made to feel very welcome.
Excellent service & personal attention of Celine Thanks!!!

Like being at home except the bathroom light needs to be brighter because it was hard to do hair and make-up with the present lights. I enjoyed the bed, the company, the owners, everything. The ease of coming and going, the breakfasts all of it.
This was the best place I have ever stayed. The meals were fabulous and the staff were great
I found the breakfasts a bit rich in terms of calories. I am more the fresh fruit, porridge, scrambled eggs and coffee type of gal. A 22 min walk to Oak Bay village. Beautiful homes everywhere. The beach is one block away.
I loved the different rooms, we stayed in a few and look forward to staying in them all over time. I also thought it was a nice touch to provide fresh muffins for a snack.
Incredible full breakfast. Lovely staff. Cozy Cotswold Inn feeling. Beautiful, quiet location, a block from the waterfront.
The decor and authenticity of Oak Bay Bed and Breakfast was amazing, the breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly we absolutely LOVED it.
Lori was very helpful and friendly! We had to take the ferry back to the States and she called and found out all the details for us, since it was too late to make the reservation online. Also she arranged breakfast to go for our early departure. A very lovely lady.
Location, cleanliness, comfort and an awesome breakfast. Super nice owner!
Breakfast was generous and graciously served. Check in efficient. Parking available on property. Rooms and property clean. A homey, comfortable place to stay in a luxurious carefully preserved heritage home. Lovely, sun filled solarium with coffee, tea and a large screen TV on the second floor. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and everything was very clean. Cal was an exceptional host, ensuring we had everything we needed. The breakfasts were delicious, including fresh fruit, good coffee, overnight omlettes, quiche and sausages. As we had to leave early to catch the Ferry, Cal went out of his way to serve breakfast early. Thank you so much for making our stay in Victoria a special one.

The beds were great. We stayed in a suite. We did not get the breakfast, but they still invited us the odd day. They had kayaks, canoe, and bikes you could use. We went for a canoe ride one day and saw a seal that followed us around the lagoon. Awesome views, hot tub was great. The weather wasnt great, but we wemt in the off season.
Beautiful locatio, wonderful breakfast, interesting host
The room was very clean and nicely furnished. I was upgraded so I got a room that was bigger than I needed. It was new and very nice. I arrived in the dark and left in the dark, so I did not see much of the property.

The breakfast was delicious, the housekeeper was absolutely amazing, the accomodations were private, and the view was spectacular. There is so much to do and see just on the property, it is a destination in itself.
I actually live in the area and needed a quiet getaway to think and relax and just happened on Birds of a Feather. I had no idea it would be so nice! The private waterfront location overlooks a protected bird sanctuary. I could have sat there all day watching the birds and taking it all in. Dieter and Padhada are both very friendly and I imidiately felt welcome and relaxed. An other on expected surprise was the quality of the included breakfast! The next time I need a getaway I won't even bother looking for better deals, I'll be coming right back here. Thank you, Dieter and Padhada, for your warm hospitality.

we've been coming to the Helm's Inn for years. It's a great location - hear downtown and Beacon Hill Park - reasonable price, with kitchen so we can cook and have meals here. Cozy and less "corporate" compared to a hotel chain.
The guy at the front desk (the only staff member I encountered) was excellent. I don't recall his name but he was very helpful and accommodating. I also liked the free wifi, the bathroom was very clean, the suite was quiet, and the kingsized was very comfy.
Our stay at Helm's Inn was really amazing! Perfect location, friendly staff, very nice room. And it wasn't just a room! It happened to be a 1-bedroom suite with the fully equipped kitchen. We will definately stay here again when travelling to Victoria next time. Thank you!

The location of the hotel is perfect for walking to nearby Empress Hotel, the Parliament Building, the Royal Museum and IMAX theatre, the Miniature Museum, Whale Watching tours, shopping and eating establishments. Backed right up against castle property. We could see the Craigdarroch from our window.
The decoration of the whole guesthouse and the room is pretty nice and confortable, let me have a feeling of staying at home. The breadfast buffet is incrediably delicious and good, have many foods and fruits to eat, absoutely worth to stay when you go to Victoria.
The room was cozy, clean and felt like a home away from home. The sunlight coming through the dining room windows in the morning was beautiful. The b&b is a short walk away from Government House which is a must-see when visiting Victoria.
The breakfast is outstanding The setting is gorgeous Dine next to a real castle
Loved everything about my stay! My suite was amazing and breakfast was wonderful. Everyone is so friendly, I can't wait to stay here again!
Wonderful location within walking distance to the gardens at Government House. The breakfast was really good with raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, yogurt, croissants, cereal etc. The décor is visually beautiful and the living room area is also comfortable and has coffee/tea supplies. We were touring with a cousin from Europe and this was one of his highlights on our trip with him to Vancouver Island. The staff were wonderful.
We were met by Wade who was really lovely and friendly. He showed us around this beautiful, fully renovated B&B. It's such a welcoming place. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was really lovely. We enjoyed the 2 nights we spent there and would definitely go back. Great value for money!
Breakfast was excellent with many choices for a continental breakfast and our room was lovely, bed so comfortable. Staff were very helpful. We really liked the ambience of the whole place and felt at home. We were only there one night but could easily see staying there longer. The Carlyle has laundry facilities and even a guest kitchen where you can chill your wine and cook for yourself if you don' t want to eat out. There were families there with children and everyone got along just fine!
The ambiance was fantastic and the breakfast couldn't have been better definitely will be going back.

Excellent accommodations, friendly staff, and best location. This was our second stay there and will definitely stay there again.
great location, plenty of character, opposite clipper terminal
This hotel was very nice. The room was great, sort of period with king size 4 poster bed nice love seat. It was very comfortable. breakfast was included and was very good and the service in all areas wonderful.
excellent service and location. Walking distance to restaurant and tourists attraction.
The Gatsby/Huntingdon staff were absolutely fantastic -- every single one of them! The Pendray room is huge and beautiful with many antique furniture pieces and an enormous bathroom. It has a stunning close-up panoramic view of the waterfront. There is no hotel closer to the Clipper dock than The Gatsby. We adored everything about this old but very well kept place. But if you're the sort that doesn't appreciate old wood stairs that creak as you walk up them (yes, I said "walk") and furniture that's much older than you (except the new and comfy bed), then you will be happier elsewhere. I was looking for something unique, homey, with a nice view and a close walk to downtown that was different than all the rest...a place that says "COME BACK!" to me. The Gatsby property and the Huntingdon people FAR exceeded my expectations!
The room was beautiful and all the original stained glass and woodwork was awesome. The room was clean and the bathroom was recently updated, for an old building there was excellent water pressure. The view of the harbor was beautiful and it was a very walkable location.
The room we booked at the Gatsby was being renovated, so we were upgraded to a MASSIVE room in Huntingdon. It was perfect and lovely in every way. The bed was very comfortable and the room was so spacious I didn't have to see my boyfriend unless I felt like it. We had dinner reservations, so they called a cab for us. When it didn't arrive after 20 minutes, one of the staff drove us to the restaurant in his own car.
Loved the charm and character of the buildings, location and friendly staff.
The Gatsby Mansion has great ambience. Our suite was large, attractively furnished and very comfortable, with windows facing the harbour. The staff was helpful, friendly, and ever-ready to make us feel at home. I would definitely choose to stay there again.
We were booked into a deluxe Queen suite at the Gatsby Mansion but on arrival were informed the Gatsby was under renovation and we had been upgraded to the adjoining Huntington Manor. We were upgraded to the Dorset suite which is amazing and best suite in the manor. Located centrally and a beautiful building.!

Very very lovely heritage house, gorgeous stained glass. Graceful architecture. The host is also very gracious, and maintains the property beautifully. And the breakfasts are healthy and delicious !
Excellent location in a quiet neighbourhood just 2 blocks from the harbour. The Roses and Lace room had a big comfortable bed and a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The room was supplied with a kettle and coffee maker, but the bonus was a jar of ground coffee, not instant or prepacked filters! Breakfast, although a limited selection, was plentiful and tasty. Overall home is quintessential of 'Victorian Charm'. Best place I've stay at in Victoria in the past 10 years.
A lovely place in a great location! The neighborhood was just that - a quiet, residential neighborhood. Yet, It was within walking distance to everything. Douglas was so kind and considerate!
This lovely, 100 year-old Victorian-style B&B was in a perfect location - easy walking distance to the Legislature Building, waterfront, shopping, etc., with the added bonus of being on a quiet street away from heavy traffic. The breakfasts were unique and tasty. We would absolutely stay there again.
WE arrived by Boat and found the bed and breakfast right down the street where we could drop off our backpacks! Lightening the load made our first day in Victoria wonderful! The accomodations were great. The bed comfortable and the breakfast superlative! Thanks for the restaurant location suggestions. I felt like a queen!
Cute Inn close to everything. Comfortable, private, great breakfast
I thought the B and B was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Douglas was very helpful. He offered to bring in our bags, showed us to our room and was very hospitable. We loved the location because we could walk to all the stores and the harbour.

The hotel is situated very well for walking and exploring Victoria. The staff were outstanding, every single one of them. There were bikes, umbrellas, and an endless supply of water for our comfort.

We've stayed here every time we go to Victoria for several years now. We love the history and vintage style of the building but with modern ammenities. walking distance to 'downtown' and many attractions. Great walkabout city and other attractions are not a long drive with good signage. The staff here are always friendly and know lots about what is going on in town, they are truly engaged in helping their lodgers have a great stay.
I dont generally leave reviews. But this place, I had too. The staff all seemed so proud of thier jobs. The were super friendly and helpful. Everytime I left and came back my room had been super cleaned by amazing housekeepers. I have never stayed at a hotel or inn that had been cleaned as thoroughly as this one. Beautifully appointed room with superior bed and linens. Fabulous claw-foot tub and shower with bath salts. The best part is the all-day help yourself tea and coffee, an outstanding breakfast in a tasteful dining room where you can choose to eat alone or not, a delicious appy hour with charcuterie, olives, cheeses and wine, a gift store, and very accommodating staff.
The staff was wonderful. Nothing was ever too much. They helped us with everything. The rooms were extremely comfortable and cozy. As a Dane would say "hygge". The breakfast was delicious. We had a very pleasant stay at the Abigail.
Fabulous home made breakfast, different every morning, fresh pastries and delicious eggs
We liked everything about Abigail's -- the professional and super friendly staff, the charming room (we stayed at Amethyst), the quiet neighbourhood, the comfortable bed, the cozy library and the delicious afternoon hors d'oeuvres and morning breakfast. We especially appreciated the care they took in welcoming us to our honeymoon stay, with a bottle of wine ready in our room. It's also in a great location, walking distance to many town sites. Thank you Abigail's staff for your hospitality and we will definitely be back!
The food was amazing both the evening snacks and breakfast. The bed was super comfortable. The staff was very friendly and seemed always ready to go over and beyond to make your stay extra comfortable. I felt at home and would definitely go back.
Bed and linens were awesome, breakfast and appetizers were phenomenal, employees very friendly and helpful
The breakfast was amazing as was all of the staff.
Abigail's was not only lovely but the staff were outstanding. So friendly and accommodating. The room was great and the amenities excellent. They go over and above to make your stay wonderful. The common library with lots of books, games and a fireplace that kept us cozy was my favorite. I only stayed one night but I didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.
The whole Abigail's experience was fantastic. My wife and I had a wonderful time at Abigail's. Too bad we only stayed one night. If we ever visit Victoria again, we will certainly try to stay at Abigail's.
Everything. The staff was excellent...friendly, courteous, attentive, helpful. They arranged our visit to the Butchart Gardens, made our dinner reservations, called taxis for us, and reminded us of the time that The Royals were arriving. The room was most comfortable, and the breakfast was fabulous. Lastly, the location was perfect. Overall an A+.

The view from our suite was breath taking, great location. Staff were friendly and place was clean.
The room had the best view was clean and comfortable!
Fantastic executive suite with great views of the bay.
The suite and it's views were fantastic! Waking up to see Season planes taking off in the harbor as well as sea otters frolicking was quite fun.
The bed was amazing and the staff gave us the fan from their own office to use.
We were upgraded to ocean view suite, great room, great stay
We stayed on the 6th floor with a harbour view and the suite had lots of large windows to enjoy it. The balcony was a nice size and also accessible from the bedroom. I loved laying in bed with the drapes and window open to hear the gulls and watch the seaplanes and boats. The location was perfect and it was very quiet. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was nicely furnished and also had a full kitchen. Our one bedroom suite was very spacious and the Regent is my new 'go to' when I visit Victoria. For a great lunch...Ferris on Yates is a short walk and the food is fabulous. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby.
We were given a free upgrade from a regular king-sized room overlooking the city to a suite overlooking the harbor. It was awesome.
Location was excellent, the breakfast room was lovely with a beautiful view.
Good sausage patties and eggs, fruit, yogurt, coffee.

The bed was a wee but small but it fits the room size.
The breakfast is second to none, and the beer and chocolate pairings are a nice perk. The accommodations are well furnished, the bed is very comfortable and the private patio and fireplace allow you to unwind in style.
Lovely room and setup. Great free breakfast! Nice secluded parking.
THE ROOM WAS VERY COZY. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC. ATE THERE 4 TIMES

A very beautiful spot . We were very happy with our stay 😀
The bed was very comfy and the fire was a perfect touch. The breakfast was amazing; hands down best we've ever had! Will be coming back soon.

The beds were a little disappointing. The hotel was amazing
The staff was friendly and the view from the room was amazing. The Lure pub was very nice and the bartenders were quite good at their jobs.
Beautiful hotel! Great views! Very friendly and helpful staff!
We were so impressed with everything. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay, the room itself wowed us at every turn. I believe it was the "club king with water view". It was gorgeous, comfortable and very clean. We had two full bathrooms a kitchen, fireplace with complimentary fire logs a loft and a balcony with great views. The location is so beautiful and quite tranquil with the harbor at your feet. Everyone we ran into was so so friendly, we just can't say enough! I don't know why this is not a 5 star hotel, it's worth every penny. Stay at the Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel, you won't be disappointed! Thank you for a wonderful stay Delta!
Beds are super comfy, harbour view is unbeatable and pool with workout facility is of superb cleanliness ☺
The location is terrific. The entire staff is so helpful. A great experience.

Fabulous views of harbor & town. Warm, helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Chic decor. Unexpectedly excellent food.
The staff was excellent in every area. At checkout time we still wanted to spend the day exploring the city on foot and the hotel offered their parking facilities for the rest of the day.

Amazing full breakfast included in room rate. Fabulous club atmosphere - wonderful to relax in the beautiful reading room. This private club would be even better when weather is warmer as they have a lovely terrace. We did not take advantage of dinner or lunch but understand that it is excellent food and very reasonable for members or those staying at the club. Next time! This will be our first choice when we stay in Victoria again.
Great and helpful staff! Amazing atmosphere. You don't get often to access a club if you are not a member. The old lift is fantastic! The library room is beautiful. All together I loved my stay at this cozy hotel.
The facilities were great, location was good and the staff were the best.
The staff was extremely kind and upgraded us since it was a special occasion. Everything was excellent.
Homely comfortable welcoming and personable. Reception staff very informed and helpful while we were visiting. Room was really comfortable.
Our favorite place is the Reading Room--what a treat to be able to sit down with a wide selection of newspapers and magazines. (Of note, some remodeling is planned for spring 2017 with temporary re-purposing of some rooms.)
This is an active, old-English style membership club that also invites outside guests for its rooms. It is warm, inviting, even a bit delightfully stuffy. The staff aim to please, and are solicitous without being intrusive. The breakfast is excellent, cooked to order. The location couldn't be better: next to the Empress!
When you stay at The Union Club it's like being welcomed into the home of someone you know. Extra beautiful decor and all the little touches are there to make your stay extra special. The added security of the front desk and front entry doors with a swipe card is a nice plus too.
A beautiful traditional facility. One of the nicest clubs in Canada.`
The room had been well updated with a great shower complete with grab bar. The bed was very comfortable. The club has the atmosphere of an English country mansion and is very comfortable. The spacious library is great.

The early bird dinner special was great - presentation as well as food was great. Murray McMullen was extremely helpful - and a wealth of information
Great location across from harbor. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The Grand Pacific Hotel is very grand! Beautiful design, superb location, lovely decor and great facilities. We stayed in a family suite with the most incredible panoramic views of the inner harbour, the city and Parliament House. We could not have wished for a lovelier room. We dined at the restaurant for dinner one night and it was excellent as was the Steam Ship Restaurant opposite the hotel. It is close to everything and parking, although $18 per day, was very convenient. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent staff! Very friendly, will definitely go back!
Lots of space in top suite. Everything very clean.
Duane made us feel at home. We were celebrating my birthday and our 5th anniversary and he upgraded us to the master suite which had a giant washroom and cute little balcony. He always greeted us by name and when we mentioned we were hoping to return for a whole week next year he offered us a discount. The location is great, nice quiet area with deer everywhere. Beautiful gardens around ty he house, quiet and getting to know other bed and breakfast guests was nice. The rooms are VERY Victorian but it was kind of fun and we enjoyed feeling like royalty for a few days.
Charming historical and comfortable setting but don't expect modern luxury! Had the biggest bathroom that I had ever seen in my life with amazing tub! Manager, Duane, is wonderful- very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Would definitely return and will recommend.

We were allowed to check in early in the day since we had plans for the entire day. When we expressed it was our anniversary at the time of checking in the front desk paid attention and sent a beautiful plate of hand made maccaroons and truffles to our room while we were out, along with a card wishing us happy anniversary. We were very impressed that she took the time to care and do that for us.
Touch notch facility, services and staff. Rooms were clean, well appointed with the Erickson Wing the nicer of the two rooming options. Very professional and high touch staff. They remember your name and treat you like royalty. From the front desk agent to concierge all request are treated with eagerness and prompt action. You can do no wrong making Laurel Point your base while in Victoria.
When we checked in, the staff gave us some great suggestions for exploring the city. We loved the location, not squeezed in like other hotels in the area. The beds were very comfy. We left something in the car, we called the front desk, and they retrieved it and brought it to us. That was nice. We called for our car in the morning and it was there waiting for us. Great staff and service!
Stayed here for our wedding night. Beautiful room and impeccable service.
Big rooms. Big bathrooms. Patio. Gorgeous view. Helpful staff. Seriously, everything was great. Whatever we didn't have, we asked for and it was received happily!
Big spacious rooms and great view which is what we asked for. My partner loved the pool especially being open after dinner. Staff were very helpful anytime we asked a question.

Lovely and comfortable room. I did high tea and it was wonderful. I'll definitely stay again.
The quality, the staff, the location, the service and Rachelle made us the best chocolate nightcap we have ever tasted!!
Absolutely stunning location and exceptional service throughout the stay. We had a great time in the hotel as always and will most definitely stay again on another trip to the island. Especially for the beds! They are unbelievably comfortable.

The Location and the ambience of the Tudor style manor was wonderful. I enjoyed having the carriage room at the top of the Inn, with the skylight. Comfortable bed, Cable TV, and the good breakfast. I appreciated the stable and reliable wifi.
The hotel rooms are awesome. They are spacious chic rooms in an authentic English setting. Je water pressure was good in the shower and there was plenty of hot water. The location was good with easy access to downtown Victoria and Esquimalt. The lobby looks great and the fan in the room was a good addition to the room.
We were given a welcome cocktail because I'm a Booking.com genius! The breakfast hot from the oven croissants were amazing as was the conversation with fellow travelers in the breakfast room with exotic greenery through the stain glass windows. The warmth from the beautiful fireplace was welcome on the rainy morning.
Bed was very clean and comfortable. Location was perfect. Loved the people that worked there. And the breakfast? WOW! I sure do miss those crossants!! They were delicious...
Exceptional staff and service. Great location. Beautiful grounds. Would recommend to family and friends.
