Overall Atmosphere: Combination
Featuring both cultural and natural attractions.
Combination Atmosphere destinations combine elements of both cultural and natural destinations, where this combination is itself essential to the travel experience. Common examples are Archaeological Sites (where culture is usually experienced outdoors), Scenic Local Markets (where indigenous cultures interact outdoors), Hotsprings and Vineyard Areas (where nature provides the raw materials but humans create the surroundings), and Unique Cultural Landscapes (where humans and nature interact in innovative ways, as in the elaborate rice terracing systems of Asia).
Combination Interests typically fall somewhere in the middle of the three types of primary interests in terms of
(a) how climate-dependent they are
(b) how accessible and physically demanding they are.

Very friendly, the bed so comfy and a great breakfast.
Friendly host. Lovely breakfast, with fresh fruit and really tasty locally produced bacon and sausages. Good temperature on a freezing weekend. Able to open windows for fresh air. Bathroom spotless.
Excellent communication ahead of arrival confirming location, and an extremely warm welcome accompanied by a cup of tea and a cake. The property is stunning, immaculately clean and maintained to a very high standard. Great tips from Chris about where to eat and the local area which were greatly appreciated. Incredible location for exploring the area being far enough away from everything to feel secluded, but close enough to Truro and a number of picturesque villages for it to be convenient. Only a short scenic drive to the Roseland Heritage coast too which is well worth a visit. Fantastic breakfast cooked by an owner who seems to genuinely care about people enjoying their stay. A true credit to Cornish B&Bs, highly recommended.
Everything, from the welcoming owner's hospitality, to the decor, cleanliness, comfort and the breakfast. All top marks.
Everything! The cottage was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, comfortable and inviting. The gorgeous garden spread right in front of our room door and lovely flowers were framed by windows in the generous tea room and dining room. Our wonderful hosts prepared a fantastic breakfast and gave us great advice. Simply wonderful.
We cannot recommend Spring Cottage highly enough. Chris greeted us with freshly ground coffee and homemade cake. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, the en suite was superb, the breakfast was absolutely delicious and I loved the small touches like the tealights lighting the steps to the front door for when we got home at night. Thank you so much Chris, one of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in!
The personal attention and warm welcome from Chris and partner David. The extra information about the region and recommendations for restaurants etc was very helpfull.
Chris welcomed us with tea and homemade cake! Breakfast was available at a time of our choosing and consisted of fresh pineapple ( not out of a tin!) and strawberries, cereals, full English, homemade bread, fresh orange juice and freshly ground coffee 'incredible' Rooms were spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and tastefully decorated in an old Cornish country cottage. Our host, Chris- 5 stars Accommodation and price- 5 stars We will be back
It was so nice at Spring Cottage, we felt in love with this place. Chris, the owner, is such a nice guy and gives you a nice welcome and does everything one needs for a great time. Best english breakfast we have had during our whole stay in England! We will come back soon. Location is great, you can reach any place in Cornwal from here.
Excellent service, beautiful room, yummy breakfast

Large comfy warm room. Shower was great. Lots of little extras - tissues, free wifi, fresh milk, bottled water, biscuits, chocolate and amazing choice of breakfast. The hosts were welcoming and good local knowledge.
We liked everything about our stay it's the tops best bnb we've ever stayed at.
A nice quite room the breakfast as always was excellent the room very clean the bed large very friendly and warm welcome on our arrival.
We liked everything about our stay at the Cooperage. Bill and Jacqui were ever so friendly and welcoming and did everything to make us feel at home. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the food was really enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble. The lovely spacious bathroom and nice toiletries were a real plus and the fluffy bathrobe too. The fridge on the landing was a good idea to keep drinks nice and cool and to have fresh milk to hand for making cups of tea and coffee. We would definitely like to return one day. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. 😊
little extras, fresh milk food and service excellent lovely friendly couple
hosts were very accomodating people. excellent breakast plenty to choose from including a cooked breakfast. lovely bedroom and shower room very tastefully equiped. would highly recommend staying here.
Had some friendly chats with the hosts and they gave some very useful tips on what to see and where to park. The croissants were excellent. The scrambled eggs superb. Oats porridge was yummy. The berries, berry compote and fruit were fresh. Great effort.
We had an excellent visit. The rooms were really comfortable and spotlessly clean with little extras like slippers and bathrobes. The breakfast was excellent. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it.
Very comfy, food lovely, great choice for breakfast. Friendly hosts, rooms very relaxing.
This is a fantastic place. Bill and Jacquie made us feel very welcome and gave us suggestions of places to visit. The room was immaculate and the bed was huge! There were lots of little touches that really made this place stand out, such as fresh milk in a fridge on the landing, bath robes and slippers, the option to have take always delivered (we didn't use it but the fact it was available speaks volumes about how welcoming and relaxed the hosts are). The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had, just about everything you could want was available and we loved the self service toasters with lovely fresh bread and crumpets available.

Simply wonderful location and the chalet is lovely in its decor and style. The lovely Bridget - another Redruth lass- was so welcoming. Already booked my next visit. Ideal romantic location too.... Loved the welcoming text and the tea coffee and milk was very much appreciated. The patio and seating outside with security lights coming on as you get near is very much appreciated.
Position by the river was beautiful, the property was extremely well equipped and tastefully decorated.Milk and biscuits in the fridge was a nice touch. It all made for a very restful, comfortable stay.
Fantastic location on the river, very peaceful, we just love it. The owners are very friendly, Chalet is clean, warm and comfortable. This was our 2nd visit and are looking forward already to visiting again later in the year!
Everything about my stay here was perfect! Friendly owners, Spotlessly clean and a wonderful view of the river. Cant wait to return
Fantastic this property is perfect for a business traveller or for a short break away. Has everything you need and the hosts are the best. Was nice to be greeted with a friendly welcome. A welcome starter pack of tea, coffee, milk and chilled water in the fridge was greatly appreciated. It is right on the river bank and so nice to open the door in the mornings and sit out in the covered heated gazebo watching the ducks, geese, swans while enjoying your morning tea and breakfast. A more personal touch than hotels/b &b as you can come and go as you please
Warm , cosy , excellent facilities , highly recommend a stay here
The chalet was on the river bank and the view was lovely . The chalet was very light and warm and quiet despite being near a main road . It was also very private with it's own seating area and a gazebo which would be great for sitting out and taking in the view -sadly the weather wasn't quite good enough to take advantage of this whilst we were there. The bed was very comfortable and the small kitchen and bathroom were well equipped . The owner who lives in an adjoining cottage was very friendly and helpful . All in all we had a great time and would definitely go again .
The bed was a memory mattress wonderful as we sleep on one at home so comfort all night Bedding was fresh clean and lovely and soft
I enjoyed all, their was nothing I was disappointed with the accommodation, the owners were very welcoming I would recommend a visit
Fantastic location, very friendly, lots of little touches that added that extra special feeling. Amazing view along the river. Highly recommended, we can't wait to return.

What a very warm welcome and wonderful place to stay. Not to far from Newquay Centre and the beach but far enough to relax in the countryside. Hosts were fantastic and could not do enough to make me feel comfortable. A selection of DVD's available should you want to watch a film in your room and a breakfast fit for a king the next morning. what more could you ask for........
We loved everything about our stay, friendly, homely and good food
the quality and variety of the excellent breakfast and the friendliness of the service. A bonus was the piano recital one evening
All of it! what a great place! Their dedication to your stay was exceptional. I do believe there was not another thing they could have done to make us more welcome. Examples being emailing and sending photos of the stairs because I was taking my sister with walking difficulty to make sure it was suitable and a crystal decanter and glasses so that we could help ourselves to a sherry nightcap. I mean can you ask for more......oh wait, yes the amazing breakfast, scrumptious breakfast and the personal service coffee and tea with goodies on arrival! Fabulous and so very grateful!
Excellent quiet rural location, ideal for exploring the entire area. Comfortable room, great breakfasts with slight variations each day, and Andree's knowledge of where to go and what to see is very helpful. Our fantastic stay was complimented by a lovely dog and a cat with attitude!
Very friendly gave good advice on the best places to eat at. Helped with our travel plans around Cornwall. Great Breakfasts. Lovely comfortable bed.
Bed comfy,Breakfast superb.Views lovely.Perfect location for us peaceful and quiet but close enough to a host of locations in and around Cornwall and Devon.Hostess Andree incredible went out of her way to ensure we had the perfect stay.

Lovely spacious room. Fantastic owners very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to going again some time.
Host and hostess were delightful and helpful (assisted in getting out bags up to our room and lots of great suggestions for sightseeing). Hearty Engligh breakfast served in a lovely, cheery "sun room" made to order with lots of delicious home-baked extras! Bedroom was a wee bit small, but clean as a whistle and very comfortable with tea tray and other "comforts". The bathroom featured all the latest amenities including a handheld sprayer and LOTS of HOT water and good pressure (a rare find when traveling in the UK!). This B&B was situated in a quiet area of town, yet within walking distance from the downtown. On site parking (also hard to come by) was another bonus!
Excellent welcome to very clean property. Easy walk into St Austell and easy access to local main roads. Room furniture was appropriate to size and bathroom had room for washbags and all towels!
Mike and Barbara were excellent hosts for the duration of our stay. Good breakfast made with fresh ingredients tasted lovely, especially the eggs and Barbara's freshly baked pastries :-) The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are only a short drive away and the China Clay Museum is well worth a visit. Plenty of good pubs and restaurants are only a short drive away, or if you prefer to walk, the White Hart Nr the Church serves good food and is only about 15-20 mins by foot
I liked everything about the property. It was lovely and clean, in a brilliant location and the owners were really friendly. They made me feel at home through my stay. Also, the breakfast was amazing.

Perfect place for a peaceful business stay. If you are fed up with Premier inns etc, and would like to feel relaxed and welcome in a lovely self catering place, give this one a go. Lovely lady and lovely apartment. Thank you very much.
We asked to be left alone as we wanted peace and quite and were left alone to do as we please. The facility was spick and span as told by the owner.
Really clean and comfortable, roomy apartment with nice modern decor, a lovely view of woodland across the valley and very nice and friendly owners. It was great for our dogs with a safe enclosed space for them to go outside. Situated well away from the town and shops etc it was lovely and quiet but some might like to be closer to amenities - you really need a car to make the most of staying here.

Chris and Amanda were very welcoming and happy to recommend places to visit and local restaurants. Brilliant breakfast, very comfortable bed and quality linens. Real flowers in the room were a nice touch.
The attention to detail, cleanliness, but mainly the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts in advising of places to eat and visit. The additional touches of being offered tea and a scone on arrival was exceptional too.

Lesley was so warm and welcoming. After minutes of us arriving the evenings meal as booked at the local pub and a pot of tea delivered to our room. Just what was needed after a long drive. Many thanks Lesley
We liked everything! Beautiful room, huge beds, exceptionally clean, the best eggs for breakfast that I have ever tasted, breakfast kindly cooked to a time that suits you, great owners. We stayed at 3 locations over our week and we all thought it was the nicest. My mum said if she ever comes back to Cornwall this is where she wants to stay again - for the whole week! Highly recommended.
Great value for money, fab rooms, warm welcome. I would recommend this lovely place without hesitation.
Private, spacious villa. Excellent service with good recommendations of places to visit and restaurants. There were several other cities and attractions within reasonable driving distance.
Fine, comfy, large bed. Complete freedom to come and go as we pleased. Tasty healthy cooked breakfast. (grilled sausage, bacon, etc. cleverly poached egg) Very friendly.
Visitor accommodation is adjacent to main house with no need to access house other than for an excellently laid out breakfast in a large conservatory at the back of the house adjacent to the visitor accommodation.
As previous reviews have consistently pointed out, Lesley is an incredible host, and she was just brilliant to us - welcoming, helpful, and cooked up an absolutely delicious breakfast! Best B&B we stayed in Cornwall (and competition was stiff).
Very friendly host. Good foood in nearby pub. Great breakfast. Comfortable room
Everything!! Lesley is one of those hosts you should clone and put in every B and B, and the facilities are both excellent, and quintessentially Cornish. Just a treat.

Nearly everything organic and sourced from local farms. Although our stay was short, we would definitely return here.
Denise and Vic were brilliant hosts. They suggested coastal walks and places to eat. Vic's breakfasts were fantastic - even though I did have a concoction most mornings! The whole house was spotlessly clean and the location was lovely and peaceful. Pepe and Levi were delightful.
Denise and Vic are amazing hosts. Denise is a warm and fun character who made sure there was vegan food for me in the house on arrival, and with whom I enjoyed talking about anything really! Vic has also been super accommodating on driving us to the wedding we were going to and to the station on our departing day. I loved our stay. Denise and Vic made us feel at home with their warm hospitality . We had access to a great choice of delicious teas and organic fruit at any time of day and night. Great breakfast, super nice walk to the beach and just magical building! We def raccomend! Super clean and comfortable too!

Beautiful building in an excellent location, right in the centre of the county giving great accessibility for visiting all the attractions of Cornwall. Only 15 mins from Truro, 30 mins from the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan, 50 mins from St Ives, 1 hour from Lizard point and 1 hour 10 mins from Lands End. Paddy and Vivienne were brilliant hosts and cook an amazing breakfast each morning. The room was spacious and comfy with coffee / tea making facilities, fridge and iron. Nice local pub next door that sells good food and local beer.
A great find with lots of character. Well situated for touring Cornwall, in a small village with an excellent pub. Owners were very attentive and the accommodation and facilities were to a high standard (including fridge with fresh milk left each day).
food was fab ,owners very nice people, fab accomodation, will be booking again 5 star
Everything. The breakfast was excellent, plentiful and hot.
the beautifully presented cut up fruit and separate pot with yogurt for breakfast. Lovely back bacon not greasy as in other B & Bs. Real bread 'soldiers' with boiled eggs, a lovely touch.

World Heritage Site: Cornwall & West Devon Mining LandscapeMuch of the landscape of Cornwall and West Devon was transformed in the 18th and early 19th centuries as a result of the rapid growth of pioneering copper and tin mining. Substantial remains from this era demonstrate the contribution that Cornwall and West Devon made to the Industrial Revolution. Cornish technology embodied in engines, engine houses and mining equipment was exported around the world. Cornwall and West Devon were the heartland from which mining technology rapidly spread.
Cornwall is known for its beaches and (relatively) mild climate. Beaches include surfing spots, taking advantage of a decent Atlantic swell. Most popular is Bude, with good facilities. Other beaches include Summerleaze Widemouth bay, Crackington Haven, Padstow, and Newquay.
Hiking and Trekking
The most famous of Cornwall’s trails is the South West Coast Path, running along the coastline of Britain’s southwest peninsula. The trail takes walkers to busy towns, remote cliffs, beaches, heaths, farms and fishing villages. Walking along it is a great way to experience the region in all its variety. The Cornish section is the most scenic, particularly around Penwith and the Lizard.
