Taï National Park, located in southwestern Côte d’Ivoire, contains the largest tropical rainforest in West Africa.
The park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, contains some 1,300 plant species, of which 54% occur only in this general region.
Mammals include 11 different species of monkeys, several type of pangolins, leopards, elephants, pygmy hippotamus, many chimpanzees, and many other species. Over 230 bird species have been recorded.
Tai National Park is isolated and difficult to access.
